Giovanni Arcamone was born in a small town in the province of Avellino, Italy. He immigrated with his family to the United States at the age of seventeen. From childhood, the artist was inspired by the beauty of his native Italian landscape and began to realize his lifelong passion and talent for painting. Frequently returning to his hometown of Sant’Agata Irpina, other breathtaking locations on the Amalfi coast, and other regions in his never-ending pursuit to capture its inspiring picturesque settings. In his travels throughout the United States, Giovanni has discovered romantic sceneries to be fascinating subjects for his paintings.
The experiences of his work have allowed him to develop extensive expertise with color, technique and texture. The artist has refined a technique in which the theme and material are closely associated. Each composition has a very distinctive style where the fusion and the density of the color scheme complements the subject. This unique technique of applying color by palette knives creates a rustic texture suggesting a tactile vision.
